The Strategic Buying team - Introduction

 

The Strategic Buying team is made up of Clinical and Non-Clinical product and service areas. We are employed by Hertfordshire NHS Provider member Trusts to produce and implement Purchasing Agreements that reduce costs, improve services, manage suppliers and contracts to ensure compliance. 

  

The teams operate within the EU procurement legislation and Trust SO/SFI’s to negotiate purchasing agreements for a range of consumables, equipment (including capital items) and services.  The team promote standardisation and supplier rationalisation and continuously liaise with Trust staff to agree purchase specifications. 

 

Both teams deliver value for money by providing best practise procurement advice and contract management within a range of Clinical and Non-Clinical categories, including (but not limited to) the following:

The teams have commercial expertise and the Clinical team work closely with the Senior Nurse Advisor who has vast clinical experience and together help to improve patient care by selecting and implementing the most appropriate products for use by clinicians.
